The summary sounds enticing. An alternate 1894 California, communicating with the dead, an asylum and a would-be Hitler make for an explosive story. Too bad the author seems to have bungled the execution.

I reviewed this one as well, and I rather liked it, but you made some very fair criticisms in your review. One area where I can definitely agree with you is your enjoyment of the different spirits personalities and antics. I found this to be a very fun part of the book.
