Who Told You That You Were Naked?
Who Told You That You Were Naked? is a Christian non-functional book written by William E. Combs. It is a thought-provoking and an insightful book. It has ten chapters, each well written. At the end of each chapter, there are questions to discuss. Each chapter is filled with scriptures and great insights into the doctrines of the bible. In the book Combs explains what happened in the garden of Eden, where sins originated in details. He makes us understand how we came into sin. He examines redemption, faith and the walk of a Christian.
By reading the book, we get to remember that Jesus is the reason we have complete forgiveness. In the book William Combs explains sin, death, faith, salvation and truth. The book brings one closer to God after reading it. William Combs portrays great lessons in the book that could be useful in our day today lives.
The title of the book intrigued me into reading and reviewing it because I knew definitely there was something interesting in it. Well, after quenching my thirst for reading it, I must confess that it was all awesome. The book was more than what I expected and that kept me into high spirits of wanting to read it to the last page without putting it down.
I loved Who Told You That You Were Naked? for many reasons. First, Combs has a unique way of playing around with words and skills in bringing the scripture texts to life without distorting the original meaning of the text. Secondly, I loved the book because it was well-researched and written and the fact that William has a great grasp of theology. The author's use of command language makes the book more captivating. Last but not least, William was so detailed in the book in that whether one is religious or not, they will enjoy the book and there are end notes to guide the readers more on what they have read.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 star rate because it deserves it. The book has a way of bringing one closer to God even if he or she had deviated his or her ways from what really God wants. Combs personal testimonies spice up the book and adds more information to what he presents. His use of personal experiences and scriptures gives a better understanding of what took place in the garden of Eden. I would recommend this book to any Christian who want a different perspective on the story of the garden of Eden aside from the old testament perspective and anyone else who wants to read a great book that will take him or her closer to God.
