Review of The Pancake Money by Finn Bell .

Bobby Rest and Pollo Latu are two detectives (partners) working on the murder case of father “Mucci”, a retired Catholic priest who has been off from priestly work for a decade. Following his murder in an awkward way. His bones all broken and positioned like a cloth. Bobby and Pollo are determined to find the culprit, although the culprit left no evidence or trace at the crime scene. Still trying to figure out who is responsible and why the priest was killed another murder takes place, another priest, retired and in the same way the first was murdered. Jones Mahli a notorious gang leader escapes from prison with only 12 weeks to his release from prison at the burial of his son. Bobby and Pollo discovers Jones is somehow connected to the whole case. Jones kills Pollo in the course of action and four other uniform cops. Now with Bobby remaining and so many other deaths that has taken place including Bowlby. Liam Tull an orphan who had a scary background, having witnessed the death of all his siblings by his father, who also killed himself. Tull was adopted by the four priests “father Mucci, father Aldo, father Corcoran and father Black”. Tull has already lost three of his adopted parents to the Holy man killer. Bobby desperate to catch Jones, joins the Mahli gang to dig up the grave of Jones son to ascertain the cause of his anger. Now with Bobby turned fugitive, is he ever going to find the killer of the three dead priests? Why did the priests have to die in such painful ways? Why would Jones escape from prison with 12 weeks remaining for his release? How will he (Bobby) avenge the death of his partner?

Finn Bell has done a very good work in this book. The way he introduced the characters at different stages /points Is unique. This book is full of suspense from the beginning til the end. It is these kind of book that you find yourself helpless trying to predict the outcome of the book. It was such a brilliant construction that you probably could not have seen the next line of action coming. These work is full of actions. I had a good time reading till the end.

Unlike most stories where the audience are struggling to connect to the character. In the “Pancake money” you find it interesting the way the author created a bond so that his audience can connect to the characters and see things the way the characters see them, how difficult their work is and how they were able to solve the murder. It also shows how tedious the work of detectives and crime fighters can be. So many times in life we are faced with challenges that are so risky to undertake, whether we have the courage or not to undertake the risks involved in such challenges will determine if we can make it through it. Bobby's courage to take up the risks involved in these case is an entire message.

In the course of reading these book I found 6 errors, which makes me believe that the book was professionally edited because great books usually has few errors found in it. I give it a rating of 4 out of 4. I recommend these book for matured minds and people who love exploring ideas about crime stories, it might be an inspiration to a lot of people who lacks the courage to complete a task before them.
