And Then I Met Margaret by Rob White is not exactly a book that I would usually read. I think I would classify this book as inspirational and/or motivational. I will admit that I thought that this book was going to be all about a girl or woman named Margaret; however, this was not the case. It is a book about a lot of people that managed to make a difference in one guy’s life and his willingness to show what he has learned.
While Rob White is a success for entrepreneur, his life has not always been easy. He grew up in a town that basically had two options. Those options were to choose which one of the two factories that were located in his town as the one where he wanted to work. Rob started working at an early age and was able to acquire a car at the age of 16, which was virtually unheard of in their small town. Little did he know, a decision to change where he got his haircut at would alter his life plans. It would also cause issues in his relationship with his dad.
There are many things in life that can change your outlook on how you're living your life or how you can make your life better. Rob does a great job in telling what small decisions or occurrences would lead him to expand upon his dreams. In one instance, it was a little girl name Margaret, asking if he liked her pretty new red dress, that had a profound effect on Rob’s thinking when it came to appreciating those around you.
There are many lessons to be learned in this book that I plan on using in my own personal life. There are definitely some short stories or antidotes that will make you smile, and then there are others, that will make your heart break right along with Rob’s. One such example is when he was working on building a housing section in San Andreas and an earthquake hit.
I give this book 4 out of 4 stars. While reading this book, I did not notice any spelling or grammatical errors, which is very rare in a book nowadays. If there were any errors my brain chose to blind me to those because I was so engrossed in reading this book. I would recommend this book to anyone has any doubts on their lifestyle direction or if they're in need of a little inspiration to know that they can go just a little bit further than what they expect.
