Island Games Mystery of the Four Quadrants by: Caleb J. Boyer. Published By: Lasting Press 615 NW 2nd Ave #915 Canby, OR 97013. Written by a 12-year-old author.

Two best friends found themselves waking up in the middle of the island hungry and thirsty with no memory on how they ended up there in the first place. All the past life memories stripped away. What happened, what are they doing here, where is their parents. With questions running on the head the biggest one is will they make it out of the island, alive?

The book got my interest from the start. How are they going to make it with no water and food. The hopes are up when they spot a boat. It seems like a losing battle when Ryan almost got bitten by a shark if it wasn't for his best friend Matthew saving him.

Every day is a new challenge fighting for survival, which made every chapter interesting and keeping me on the edge all the time. With no way of getting out of the island the boys are fighting to stay alive, bringing them closer than they ever been. Coming across an invisible wall the only way they could get through is by walking in together. With each task they realizing that working together makes each task a success. The only hope is an awarded food packets and water, which isn't enough only one meal a day and if they earned it.

There were many aspects of this book that I enjoyed. Especially when they start discovering keys, what is the significance of discovered to solve this mystery island. Matthew waked up one morning and realized it wasn't Ryan breathing next to him, “Ah! Dude! There’s a beast breathing on your face!” right there they realize how dangerous the island is.

All in all the no part of this book I didn't enjoy. It kept me yearning for more, wondering what happens next. The challenges got even worse, with food poisoning and the risk of hypothermia will the boys make it alive? Will they be able to make it alive out of the fire with no source of water around. I value their friendship, one was always stronger than the other when worst come to worst. They used each other strength and weakness to conquer. When one was losing hope, the other was there to remind them they stronger than this. I think it what kept them fighting harder. I couldn't help but think of my best friend.

There were no errors on the book which made it easy to read. The book is suitable for mostly young adults. Good thing about it is the absence of unsightly violence and no sex scene. While it inspires people to believe in themselves and knowing they can conquer an obstacle makes it a good read for adults too. For having my interest from the beginning to an end I give this book a
4 out of 4 stars ratings.

The book sounds interesting. The mystery of how the best friends got to the middle of the island is quite captivating. However, your review could have used alittle more editing to eliminate the grammatical errors. e.g. "waked up"

The story sounds like an adventure. Your review is really good. I will definitely add this book to my want to read shelf as I now I want to know if the boys made it out alive.

Such an interesting premise! And the fact that it's written by a 12-year-old is impressive. Nice review.
