The Solution is Political Revolution by Jillion R. Rising emphasizes the need for political reform in America. The author asks thought-provoking questions that ignite conversations amongst the average American citizen. The book explores the social, political, and economic problems of America and argues that the only practical and sustainable solution is revolution. Rising asks, Is the growth of government jobs happening because we've run out of ideas on how to create self-sustaining industries, or is it an orchestrated effort to grow a centralized government while enabling corporate monopolization thereby making government and corporations the two dominant suppliers of jobs?

This book was indeed an eye-opener for me as regards the politics of the American people. I can’t help but agree with the author that the economy is indeed controlled by those who care less about the masses but rather care about their selfish gains. Just like the author had stated in his book, where the revolution must begin is the governmental system, and the people in power who are responsible for the economic hardship want us to believe they are the ones who should fix it.

There are a number of things to like about this book. Besides the major knowledge impact it seeks to offer, I also admired the author’s desire for the citizens to become involved in the change. He reminds Americans that their voice is their power. He emphasizes their need to wake up to the idea that the government needs their review and it is their right to voice their opinion. He said, and I quote, “Our review is our power, and if we don't exercise our right to use it, we're going to lose the power to do so.”

There is nothing much to dislike about this book, as I gained valuable knowledge from it. However, it was quite difficult to keep up with the finance part of this book. I’m not so knowledgeable in tax, so most of the terms sounded foreign and boring to me. I wish the author had simplified it further, but I understand that the book must meet a certain standard. With that being said, I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I deducted one star for the above-stated reason. I must commend the author, as I found no grammatical errors while reading.

I recommend this book to anyone seeking to gain knowledge about American politics. The authors did a great job encompassing all necessary areas.
