Toni-The Superhero
Toni-The Superhero is the title so the book is about…Toni, of-course. It is a children picture book written by R.D. Base and illustrated by Debbie Hefke. The author explained the story by artwork as it is the easiest way to communicate and connect with the world. The book would be a perfect fit for beginning readers. This book is important for the children to learn their regular routines and activities.
Children relate more to the character that has a superpower like Spiderman, Batman, Superman... It is the entertaining story with a likeable character. Toni is the superhero with extraordinary powers but he likes to do other activities as ordinary children without using his power. In the first page of the book, the author introduces the main character -shown not wearing a superman costume. Following that, there are most of the pages showing Toni wearing a superman costume with a mask. He likes to eat, read, play and sleep as the other kids. Toni can be seen playing with his friends, swimming, singing, dancing and protecting the animals. He is also helping his mom in household chores such as washing the dishes, cleaning and sweeping. He is not wearing superman costume while running, swimming and sleeping.
The superhero pictures will delight young readers. Each page contains the full length picture which has text over the picture. The author does the great job of giving the detailed description by artwork. I loved this story as it provides the basic lesson to children with a brightly colored pictures. A daily schedule brings comfort and consistency to a child’s life. Consistent routine will help the child and their body clocks with many day-to-day basics.
According to me, every child is a superhero who are all printing their footprints in all walks of life even though they don’t have any special powers. I think this book is important for children to learn about their abilities, certain chores and routines. The author opens a treasure box for children as every children would like to learn and read in a colorful template.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars as it contains simple sentence and attractive pictures. I have enjoyed the reading and I would recommend this mainly to children and then parents-parents should teach the children to do the everyday chores and activities on their own. The book is rather short and it could be read before bedtime. It is easy to understand. This book giving the platform for the children to read independently and learn in a fun way.
