When the sun rises or sets,be indoors and away from the light;you'll react badly to it.Nightlord sunset is the first book I've read from Garon Whited and it's an interesting book. This novel covers a fiction story about vampires and follows a number of characters such as Eric a college professor who after a friday night party with his students, wakes up with a high grade hangover only to realise that he spent the night with a total stranger who turns him into a vampire without his consent and teaches him how to feed and protect himself from rival organisations such as the Fist of God who are said to be very dangerous because they have power mortal men should not have and do things mortal men cannot do.
I had no difficulty understanding the book as Garon Whited cunningly weaves in any essential background details during the action of the novel.Eric is a college professor who just suffered a heart break from his girlfriend who refused to marry him and as a way of destructing his attention, his students convince him to come along for a friday night party where he unexpectedly meets Sasha ,a female vampire who lost her husband a couple of centuries ago.But before his death,he promised her that he would return some day ,So when she met Eric,he was the perfect look alike of her late husband which made her believe he had actually come back to life as he promised before his death.
While weaving in fiction while necessary, for this masterful blend of fact and fiction, the thrilling plot and the Authors creation of brilliantly believable characters,I rate Night lord Sunset 3 out of 4 stars.
The novel needed alot of editing.I found a couple of typos and there were sentences that used alot of pronouns therefore confusing the reader as to who was saying what.
I didn't like the part where Eric had to sacrifice a cow in order to successfully complete casting of a magical spell intended to show them the location of their organised enemies called The fist of God who tried multiple times to kill them.
In fairness, the novel has it's share of exiting thrills that keep the adrenaline pumping through out the read. For example during the raids of the Fist of God ,a rival organisation who are interested in killing the vampires,Eric always brought out the best in him during the action to protect and defend his friends and himself from being killed by their rivals who use both supernatural powers and assault weapons. This made the book so interesting and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys fiction and vampire stories.
