Toni the superhero is a simple but interesting book written by R.D Base. Toni the Superhero is about a small boy by the name of Toni with extraordinary powers. There are many ordinary things that he likes to do. The book points out the various things that Toni likes to do on a daily basis when he is not out busy saving the world and even goes further to use drawings that show the actions that he loves to do. It is very interesting how as young as Toni is and even with his extra ordinary powers, part of what he likes to do is helping in house chores such as sweeping.

Just like many superheroes, Toni loves to save the world, he particularly likes saving animals in danger, like a cat stuck on tree branches. He even has a beautiful superhero uniform that he wears when he is out busy saving the world and even sometimes when he is doing the ordinary things he like to do at home.

R.D Base is an author who has remembered that children and not just children but the world’s youngest ones who cannot yet follow through a whole plot by themselves, also need to learn both morally and linguistically through literature by writing this book TONI THE SUPERHERO that has a simple plot that is not ambiguous for the child’s brain.

The book stands out among many because of the fact that it is in simple English language, very helpful in enhancing the children’s language and easier for them to understand. It also has very clear illustrations that would be more like a picture dictionary to any child who might not yet know the meaning of several verbs used in the book. Toni the superhero is also not a book too long that will tire a child out and not to forget that the book is entertaining to the child, and fun to read out loud to the adult.

For the qualities enumerated in the above paragraph, I would recommend this book to children of ages 0-4, although even children above four years could still benefit from reading the book, especially if they are still struggling with perfecting the English language.

I give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. The simplicity of the language and the plot, the theme of helping out, and the active involvement of Toni in positive activities, is a good way to build children’s vocabulary and teach good values to them. Children will find Toni an interesting child and parents will approve the book for their children’s reading.
