Toni The Superhero
The book is written by R.D. Base and illustrated by Debbie Hefke. The story is about a character named Toni and what he likes to do. The book is very suitable for the intended audience or reader which is the age between 0 and 4 years old. In terms of the words used in the book, the vocabulary is very simple and easy to be comprehended by the younger readers. All the words used are very suiting to describe the picture drawn and illustrated.

For illustrations, the illustrator did a good job in editing and illustrating all the pages and pictures for every single page. The pages are colourful with interesting and eye-catching drawings of related actions and sceneries for the words intended. This will help greatly in catching the attention of the young children for the reading session. For every page, there are a lot of new objects that the young readers can learn and point out. Therefore, the book also gives new knowledge other than the words written on the page.

The book does not have any plot as the author’s intention is to introduce new words to the readers only and in overall, the objective is achieved. The sentence is very simple for every page. Hence, the readers can focus more on the word for every different page. The book content is very simple and light that it can be read anywhere and every time.

Despite the non-existence plot for this book, the flow for every page is very much structured and neat. The book started with the setting of early morning activities of Toni and ended with the night time for the character in the book. That displays how much thoughts both author and illustrator put in making the book to be enjoyed as much as possible by the readers. Apart from that, the character created by the author gives off the impression that he leads a very ordinary and relatable life of the children. In the form of the actions and activities he does for the whole day. In my opinion, that will make the book more enjoyable for the readers.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because of a few reasons. Most importantly, the book is very well edited and have a very beautiful illustration. Other than that, the words chosen for the intended age of readers are suitable and easy to comprehend. In overall, the book is worth it.
