Mom & Dad Are Always Right by Aimee Andren is a short children's book that aims to teach children to listen to the advice their parents give them. The author uses two young siblings, Pete and June, to educate other young children by telling five different stories. Pete and June thought they were old enough to make their own decisions about when to go to bed, what to eat, when to have a pet, when to brush their teeth, and how to behave around each other.

Their parents were kind enough to let them have the little misadventures. As the saying goes, experience is the best teacher—they let them learn from the experiences. The problems and struggles they encountered, for example, being chased by a fire-breathing dragon after sneaking out, taught them that their parents are indeed always right. I liked how simple the language used by the author was. The stories were relevant and brought up the teachings effectively. I loved the way the words were rhyming, making the story poetic and simple enough for children to understand. The illustrations used for each part were amazing and relevant. What makes the story even more interesting is that the book is short, and children can reread the story over and over again without tiring.

The copy of the book I read had some issues. One issue was the font choice and scanning quality, which made the writing appear distorted; some words were not clearly visible. Another thing I would love for the author to change about the book is coloring or painting the illustrations. It will make the book more attractive because children often love conspicuously colored books. I would also love for the author to type the work digitally instead of scanning the hard copy; it will make the writing more visible.

Overall, the book was interesting. I give it a rating of 3 stars out of 5 stars because it was interesting and exceptionally well-edited, as I found no grammatical errors in it. I deducted 2 stars because of the distorted writing, which made the reading difficult, and the fact that the cover page was not painted, which made it less attractive. I believe the book will earn a perfect rating if the above issues I noted are corrected. Children aged 8 years and under are the perfect readers for the book. I believe the book will instill good morals in them, and they'll find the stories interesting.

I see you read a previous Book Of The Day! I also agree that more color would make the children's book better. I like how the kids learn from experience to understand why mom and dad's advice works. Great review!

This book has a lot to offer to both the children and their parents. If children can learn why it is important to listen to their parents their lives could become easier. Some parents are not assertive enough, while others are overly assertive. This book can help to find a good balance.

Great review! This book is certainly one that parents should read to their children. Children always seem to think that they know better than their parents, which is ridiculous.

I would also really like the illustrations to be in color. Although I can overlook that because the subject of the story is good. Children's desire for freedom from what they perceive as restrictions on them is increasing.I would like to know how the story went. Thank you for the recommendation.

I appreciate your honesty in your criticisms of this book. I agree that font choices are important and can impact the quality of the book and also that it is better for illustrations in children's books to be colored rather than black and white.

This book can be valuable to both children and parents. Children need to understand that good parents are more experienced and want the best for them. Negligent parents can learn to be more nurturing. I hope June and Pete learnt some valuable lessons. I appreciate your honest review and hope the writer will use the recommendations to improve the presentation.

I prefer children's books where the message isn't so obvious. This one gets straight to the point, and I'm not sure kids will engage so quickly. I agree with you that the cover needs some color. That's not going to immediately attract many kids.

This seems like a sweet and fun book that shows how kids learn from their own small mistakes. I like that it uses rhymes, simple words, and short stories to teach good lessons. It’s a nice pick for kids who enjoy playful and meaningful tales.

"'Mom & Dad Are Always Right" by Aimee Andren is a short and delightful read that reminds us of the wisdom our parents often hold. It's humorous and simple, yet manages to leave a lasting impression about how children perceive authority and love. I appreciated how the book conveys its message without being too heavy or preachy. Have any of you read this book with your kids? What was their reaction?

A message subtly conveyed to kids is better received. The author appears to have handled the subject matter effectively. A little color would have enhanced the book's appeal among the target audience. Thank you for your great review!

This is an excellent book and will be a boon for many parents who want their kids to listen to them!!
I'm surprised the print isn't digital and I agree, that colours will make the pictures more lively. I wonder if the author had to cut corners to keep it under a certain budget.

Overall though, a good book and I enjoyed reading your review!!
