Life is one of the precious gifts that God has granted to us for free. All humans from all walks of life are given this very vital asset for free. Assume that you have learnt today that you are going to pass away very soon, what would you do? This is the primary question that props Van Fleisher’s Final Notice. In this story, people who get to know that they will die soon reacts in different ways. Some people contact their loved ones, others thrive to organize their legal affairs, some prefer to go out on a trip and others prefer to give out donations. Other people become wild and can commit murder.
In this story, Vijay Patel, a very brilliant doctor and a mathematician has just come up with a new invention. Patel has developed a health watch that is capable of reading a person’s blood chemistry very well and reveals when the person is likely to pass away. The reason for the "final notices'' is to prepare one to order his legal affairs and to come in contact with his loved one in good time. At times, the result of "final notice'' is tragic, more so when the recipient has access to a gun.
The book has a collection of stories of various people who are victims of the "final notice''. In some stories, the victims seek revenge. The recipients of ''final notice'' in this story include a senator, an ageing resident, kind-hearted widow, a scientist who majors on studying climate change, a crass wealthy man. Van Fleisher combines and blends their stories to come up with a perfect novel that intrigues and captivates the readers throughout.
The author creates various protagonists in the story. These protagonists include Vijay Patel, the person who invents the sport watch. Another protagonist includes FBI Agent, who is responsible for barring the killings. A couple which has just retired from work is also a victim of the final notice. The couple is made up of Trudi Fuller and Vince. The book overflows with political satire and humor. The book equally has suspense and involving scenes.
The book mirrors the prevailing situation in the USA. I really liked the author’s writing style that surfaces from time to time making the story very attractive. He has used an eloquent language and proper grammar. The plot of this book flows well like water flowing downhill through a lubricated pipe. He has developed his storyline very well and is keen to spice it with satire. The book flows with an array of themes. He is equally keen to develop his characters into likable characters. The author seems to have perfect knowledge of the topic and this will not disappoint any reader.
Final Notice is left-leaning for individuals who are against the gun usage in the country or for people who need that the issue of guns should be looked into. I would recommend this book to people who are supporting the idea that the usage of guns should be solved. Since this is a book that has met the highest standards and is professionally edited, I found no mistakes thus I gave it 4 out of 4 stars.
