[Following is a volunteer review of "Love All the Way" by Aurora Carafa.]
I rate the book love all the way by Aurora Carafa
3/4 stars. It is a wonderful book to read with the story line of "love all the way " The love runs through all the characters - homosexual and heterosexual and all determined to bring up a baby together in love. It is indeed a true love story- in sickness and in health. The story line explores true love with its complexities, highlighting the commitments, challenges and sacrifices involved in a long life relationship.
The story revolves around a couple where one Allan Shandi and Mel Foster both homosexual/heterosexual and are in love -Allan is terminally sick and Mel gets pregnant. The couple are determined to bring up the child as mum and dad despite the challenges. It is a story about love , sickness, and everyday challenges and realities of life in relationships. The story line reminds readers that loving in sickness is always never easy and takes sacrifice and committment. The book further explores that a happily ever after relation is not always the ultimate goal because there will be challenges of life. The journey of perseverance and accepting one another runs through the story in the couple's lives. The book reminds the readers that it is not easy to love all the way without challenges and such love will always involve sacrifices. The author delivered the story of homosexuality in a beautiful manner making it very easy to understand. With Mel pregnant - smoking and drinking while nurturing the pregnancy did not look good in the story. There were some grammatical mistakes though the story flows and easy to follow.
Although Allen dies from ALS- Mel soldiers on with the baby and only hope she finds true love like the one she shared with Allen Shandi. A love that it is not easy to find even between blood line relatives. I recommend the book to all who are open minded.
