Snatched Up to Heaven

Authors: Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul

I would rate this book a 3 out of 5 stars. It was a joy to read, and I love this book. I really appreciate that the writers included and actually wrote the Bible verses in the book for adults and kids to go back to in their Bibles and compare notes. My only request would be if they could have written them a bit bigger—not too much, but more clearly visible—so that the verses are not easily overlooked and there are a few grammatical errors. It is biblically accurate; the book correlates with every single Bible verse that has been quoted. It is a great bedtime story, but it is not a short storybook. In my opinion, it is slightly longer, but I appreciate that the writers included the headings at the very top, which are highlighted. So, if you wanted to make it a series of reads, it would be practical. The pictures are great; they are soft-toned yet so colorful and bright—very child-friendly and fun for children to look at as you are reading and point out. This will help lengthen their attention span. I not only read this myself but also read it with my daughter. The book was well-edited, and the pictures were as I had imagined. The depiction of Jesus is beautiful. This book is also a great illustration of a healthy parent-child relationship and allows your child to ask and answer questions relating to Christianity. Teaching children to formulate a relationship with Jesus and to know that there is a better place in heaven, while not dwelling too much on hell, as it can be uncomfortable and scary for children, is important. The Bible teaches us not to add to or take away from the word of God, and this book is an accurate representation of just that. I would highly recommend this book to family and friends; the writers did an amazing job. Reading this book to my daughter at night is definitely our new family tradition.
