[Following is a volunteer review of "Diary of a Snoopy Cat" by R.F. Kristi.]

Diary of a Snoopy cat, by R.F. Kristi is a children's book.The story begins with the introduction of Inca's family and what they love to do . He mentions each person by their names and what they enjoy doing best.Inca the main character loves to explore lots of things, this urge makes him form an agency of detective with his friends to solve some mysteries in their presence. The Snoopy cat talks more about his aim as for his noble profession as a detective and also claims that he has got some detective power and that even crowds of dogs will bow to his intelligence. Those who come together to form a detective agency are his feline siblings; Cara and Fromage, their friends Charlotte the hamster, fat cat Monk,the sleuthing dog Terrance and yappy Polo. At some point there was confusion in identifying if one friend was human or an animal.

The book is written in diary format. Each chapter is a new entry into Inca's journal, about the adventures of his day. And some pages composed of the images of some characters of a cartoon. Inca's ability of possessing a detective power allows him to trace missing items and solve many crimes like; a missing diamond necklace and also retrieving a stolen document. He works with determination of becoming the best cat detective, the world's ever seen, Inca, sets out on an adventure. Terrance is joined by Solo to search for their missing friend, while Inca and his crew decides to help former bully Boss the dog find a way to keep his home.

The tittle of the book is relevant to its content, because the author has clearly explained the reasons for choosing it. There is use of literal devices like; personification. The reader is motivated since lots of suspense present. Aside from this the book portrays the notion of cordiality and unity among family and friends, teamwork has been stressed on. And therefore this cute children's book would be a hit in any home. Each character is distinct with both negative and positive traits and qualities that make them memorable; from Boss tendency to growl to Fromage's undying love of cheese.

Diary of a Snoopy cat will appeal to young readers aged 8-12. Animal lovers and pet owners will enjoy the story. The story takes place in London. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars since the story is incredibly engaging a genuine mystery filled with drama tension, and I found myself repeatedly turning the pages,l also see this piece of work done by the author as a source of inspiration for individuals looking foward to becoming a detective. The author has given us this story in which we can learn,several valuable lessons, about friendships, taking care of our neighbours and helping those in need.

Overall, I enjoyed the story and the personalities of the animals. I would have the pleasure to read more of Kristi's books concerning pets. There were no difficulties in reading through the pages,since there was no spelling and grammatical errors. However, some children may need guidance before they can fully understand the meaning of some vocabulary.

I just read this one. I had never read the other ones in the series. I did enjoy it, it's humorous and unique, but there are a lot of characters to keep track of! That part was difficult. Definitely a book an adult and child can read together over several nights.
