I gave this book a rating of three out of five. I can certainly say that it was a different type of book than I am used to reading. This is actually why I chose it, for something fresh and new. It's a fictional piece with tales of supposed certain people in the world who have the ability to use their gifts for bad instead of good unfortunately. We all know this to be true, however this was in a much more dangerous way.
It seemed to me it was mostly about the jealousy of others and how it can affect other people that they feel are better off than them in some way. This is not just discussing regular jealousy we are used to in every- day life, but the type where someone wants to harm another because of their jealousy in order to exert some sort of sense of power. There is a preface to the book explaining where the author came from and how it came to be that they wrote this type of book. Also, it lets the reader know for whom the book would be intended to help.
The actual narrative is about an investigator and his colleagues who are looking into some odd cases that are a little unexplainable. Together they learn of these types of people that practice this type of craft and are intentionally hurting others. They do this in a variety of ways that are out of the ordinary and nothing I would have ever thought of in my imagination. I did find the storyline interesting and entertaining. I noticed several errors and it made it a little of a confusing read. That's part of why I gave it a rating of three out of five. Otherwise, I would say, if you are looking for something unique and different this book could be for you.
