The diary of a snoopy cat
The story is written by R.F Kristi and illustrated by Jorje Valle. The book is about a great adventure from the perspective of a cat named Inca. Inca lives with 3 other family members who later are introduced in the story as Charlotte, Cara and Fromage. All of them live with their human mother or owner whom they called mom. In this series, Inca and friends including the neighbouring dogs and cats together solve a mystery of a missing will. Meanwhile, the other two friends of Inca had gone for another adventure to the Himalayas.
I really like the story plot. Even though the story is intended for children, older readers can also enjoy and get immersed in the story. The plot is refreshing and very light. The ending and the flow of the story are very smooth and unexpectable. Hence, you can read the book back to back with full anticipation.
Other than that, there are a lot of fancy and new words that children can learn from the story. From my perspective, children get to improve their vocabularies with this book. Apart from that, the illustrations are very good and funny. With every page you flip, there is always laughter and interesting pictures to look at. There are also no grammar errors spotted from the book. The editing seems to be done perfectly well.
As for the development of the characters, all of them are introduced clearly in the book with a distinct characteristics and features. All the characters are also drawn and illustrated in the book. Therefore, it is very easy to imagine the characters along the storyline. From the book, children can gain a lot of knowledge such as the type of cats in the world as Inca and her families are of from different breeds. The neighbouring cats and dogs are also from variety breeds. There are also a lot of new places that is included in the book. From there, children would be able to learn new places in the world. Last but not least, the book has a lot of moral values that can be learnt and applied in the daily life.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because of a few reasons. Firstly, the book is very well edited and illustrated beautifully. The storyline is also very fitting for the targeted audience which is young children. However, mature audience can also enjoy the book as the plot is very relevant and refreshing.
