I am giving this book four out of five stars. The reason is that the author spelled one of the characters' names wrong by putting an "A" instead of an "E" in front of their name. The author would need to fix this error. So it doesn't confuse other readers like it confused me. "After spending a restless night and wary night in a hayloft about Apona's room, he checked his private parts when he rose the next day (53)."

There is some sexual content in this book. Given the nature of this sexual content, I am giving this book a rating of two in sexual content. There is a scene in this book where two of the characters share a kiss. And there is some sexual tension between these two characters. In another chapter, there are two more different characters teasing each other talking about having sex with each other.

This book contains some profanity. I would keep this in mind if you are not comfortable reading profanity. Or, if you are giving this book to your children to read. The first instance of borderline profanity is on Page 12. The word is also mentioned on pages 13, 35, and 174. There are more instances of borderline profanity throughout the book. I didn't feel the need to list all the pages for the words that are frequently used. The first non-borderline profanity is on page 105. The word is repeated on pages 163, 197, and 205.

That being said, the one thing I love about this book is the fantasy and historical aspects. In my opinion, the author has done well to create a well-thought-out character and an intriguing storyline. The glossary and the guide to Gaelic pronunciation I found useful. I loved the map the author included at the beginning of the book. It reminded me of the map in The Hobbit. Which made me excited to read this book even more.
