In a time of bad reigns where the aristocracy lived a life full of wealth and extravagance, the commoners were abandoned to their fate doing everything they could to survive. But among all the kingdoms with such damage, the land of Xana was an exception. In this land every citizen lived a life full of peace and happiness, and when I say everyone I mean literally everyone. And you could ask yourself: what’s the cause? It is said that in these lands reigned a Queen like no other; everyone called her Agatha, the Beloved Queen.

Agatha was a kid who, at an early age, stood out. A lot of people admired her manners and knowledge but not everyone was happy about the way she thought or how she behaved. What they didn’t know is that the day Agatha was born her Fairy Godmother gifted her three gifts without equivalence to be a capable Queen: wisdom, compassion and more importantly, perception of character. These gifts will help Agatha reign over her land, Xana, like no one else before.
The princess lived in extravagance together with other aristocrats yet she felt herself a stranger among them, like she didn’t belong there. One day, she met a little girl whom Agatha perceived as a commoner because of the way the girl was dressed. When the little girl paid attention to the dress Agatha was wearing, instantly complimented her on it. Agatha then decided to buy her a beautiful dress, and the girl rejoiced at this fact. The princess couldn’t forget the happiness on the girl’s face, making Agatha’s way of thinking change, and with it, her life. From that point, Agatha made herself a promise: she would do everything in her power to make the people of Xana live a life of comfort and happiness.

And just like that her story began; however, a lot of variables showed up in her path, one bigger than the other. I invite you, ladies and gentlemen, to accompany Agatha on her journey full of adventures, performance, patience, and other things you will discover along the way.

If I have to describe this book in a word, I would say it’s a masterpiece, and I literally mean it. The Author, Fred Pilcher, gave us a work that every kind would enjoy, no matter what type of books you are used to reading.
When I first saw the cover and the title of the book, I thought that it would be another kind of historic book about romance, but I was totally fooled, in a good way, obviously. This book includes everything you can imagine and more: fantasy, history, romance, royalty, wars, etc. With each chapter and each story (yeah, the book is not about Queen Agatha only, but Xana’s citizens also), I learned valuable lessons about life and that to solve a problem, we should take into account several points of view. What’s more, now I know that having the correct people around you means everything will go better and smoothly. The stories of the women gave me such comfort and strength, for which I am very grateful to the author, and you will know why once you read the book.
On the other hand, I felt that the first few chapters took forever, but I still recommend you keep reading because you will be hooked in no time.

To end my point of view I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because it deserves it. The rich vocabulary the Author has implemented left me astonished; the flow of the story was quite good, the Author’s note was very helpful to understand different points, and above all, the story is told in a way as if you were watching a movie. So, I hope I can see this book made into a movie one day.
