'Twisted threads' is the fourth book in the series of Threads. The story is told in the third person perspective and revolves around the life of a young Japanese woman, Akira. The story is told in a span of ten days as everything unfolds and a lot of secrets are revealed on the ten day cruise on the ship Merry Mermaid.
Akira is a beautiful and strong 25 year old woman, who is a vicious paid assassin. She works for a notorious Japanese gang of the Yakuza family. The leader of this gang is Mitsui, who we later discover is Akira's father. Akira has been cut out from all the people she loves just so she could live her life as an assassin and have her loved ones safe. Akira loathes what she does and craves for freedom from it all. Her last assignment is to go and kill a British coupe who are suspected to have killed Mitsui's sister, Keiko.
Devon Lyod is a handsome Adonis who is on vacation with his uncle, Paul Lyod and his aunt, Sara Lyod. Devon went on this cruise to mend the strained relationship between him and his uncle, he never expected to meet the love of his life. Devon has trust issues because his mother abandoned them as kids and since then he finds it hard to open his heart to a woman.
Paul Lyod and Sara Lyod are the next targets of Akira. She travells with Tamashi Hamada, Yakuza's cleaner, to get the job done and after that she gets her freedom. Akira plans on using her female charms on Devon so as to get information about his aunt and uncle to determine who the murderer is. This leads to a lot being discovered and many people being suspected. There is a string of murders that happen and are covered up by the captain, just making Akira even more wary of who the killer could be. The love between Devon and Akira is born in all these chaos, it is exciting!
This is a story that has a lot of twists and secrets that leave you wanting to open the next page to discover the mysteries behind all the deaths. I loved this book and could not bring myself to put it down until i read the last page. It is an interesting story of love, revenge, secrets, action and freedom.
There are vivid descriptions of sexual acts and violence that I did not mind but maybe someone else will. This has to be one of my favorite action stories. There were no grammatical errors and the story flow was amazing. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It intrigued me and kept me engaged till the end.
