Review of Grand Slam Life
Milton Haber, M.D., dreamt of making a small town in a big world, creating a place defined by compassion, selflessness, altruism, inclusion, and encouragement, and a place reigned by values. While attending to his patients and his service at the Laguna Clinical Research Associates, Haber remains optimistic. This book, 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘭𝘢𝘮 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦, by Milton Haber, M.D., presents a recounting and insights of experience in Haber's service in medicine before, during, and after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the end, Haber gives insights on how to navigate the post-COVID-19 world.
Milton Haber was born in Laredo to an immigrant mother and an American father. His love for baseball miraculously landed him in a medical school in Monterrey, Mexico.
Upon completing school, he gained experience at various facilities, including his social service year in Escobedo, serving at Beekman, serving at Ohio Valley Medical Centre, and serving at Doctors' Hospital in Laredo.
Being a selfless doctor, he founded Laguna Clinical Research Associates, which he named after a street with the main aim of facilitating life-changing clinical trials in the Laredo community, a place he highly cherished. The facility would later become handy in handling the COVID-19 vaccine. For a deeper insight into Laguna Clinical Research Associates, the life of Doctor Milton Haber, his experiences when he contracted coronavirus, and the blueprint for navigating the post-COVID-19 world, please grab a copy of this book to find out for yourself.
First and foremost, I give this book a 𝟓 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝟓-𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫 rating. Milton Haber wrote a short but exciting story that holds the reader's attention from the beginning to the end. When I started reading this book, I didn't imagine how I would have landed in the medical aspect of it. Haber gradually and excitingly immersed me in medical terminologies and experiences.
I liked how Haber incorporated photos to refresh the reader with an image of him at work or with his family. I also liked how Haber used exceptional quotes as a nutcracker at the beginning of each chapter to ignite the reader's curiosity. I can't forget the quote in chapter 9, "All that you can take with you is what you've given away."
I didn't find anything in this book that could turn me off. Haber employed a simple language that most readers will comprehend. I singled out only one typographical error. Therefore, this book was professionally edited. I recommend this book to people who wish to learn to become selfless and optimistic and want to dedicate their lives to serving their community as Milton Haber did.
