[Following is a volunteer review of "Even A Pandemic Can't Stop Love and Murder (Volume One of Paying the Price Series)" by A.E.S. O'Neill.]
While checking out the review options, I came across a book called Even The Pandemic Can’t Stop Love And Murder. Love and murder? What was this book about? This title seemed weird but eye-catching, and I felt like I could not stay in peace without reviewing it. This book is part of a series called Paying The Price, written by A.E.S. O'Neill. However, this review applies only to Even The Pandemic Can’t Stop Love And Murder, not to other books of the series.
This book takes us back to the pandemic era when the world was put under a strict lockdown. In the year 2020, Alby, an American citizen, was working in Iraq. However, things suddenly went south, and he had to leave the country. Now, back in the USA, he was instructed to lie low and not attract attention to himself. However, he was poor, and he needed money. So, he decided to take up new work. Everything seemed to be going well. Will things continue to go well? Or will God have other plans? What will happen to the new life Alby was planning?
What I loved the most about this book are its characters. Every character has its own character growth, journeys, strengths, weaknesses, etc. The character I liked the most was Jagger. Despite being the main villain, he was given enough space to blossom as a character. I loved the idea of a person knowing his answers just from facial features and expressions. Since he was given such space, he grew to be such a great villain.
The book kept me on the edge of my seat, making me wonder what would happen next. There was never a dull moment with this book. Lovers of the thriller genre would love this book.
A lot of profanities were used in this book. Besides this, the story is so developed that I don’t think kids would understand how brilliant this book is. However, there are no sexual scenes in the book except for some on-page kissing and dancing. I think ages starting from older teenagers can enjoy this book. However, the book does feature a lot of homicides. That could be a trigger warning for some people and should be remembered before this book is selected.
This book is brilliant, and I loved everything about this book. I happily give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Come along, grab a copy, and enjoy this book as I did.
