He couldn't remember when he fell in love with the pain. When agony first turned to pleasure, and then to joy. Of course, it hadn't always been like this. He remembered screaming all those years ago when they first put him in this cell; those memories are vague, though, like reflections in a dusty mirror.
The Opening paragraph of Lincoln Cole's new novel, Raven's Peak, grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go.Raven's Peak is a fast-paced Paranormal Fantasy Thriller bound to suck the reader into the story. Raven's Peak is the first book of Cole's World on Fire series and just a introduction into a new paranormal world. Based in the small isolated town of Raven's Peak, this work of fiction takes the reader on a journey through the world of demonic cults and demon hunters.

Abigail Dressler was raised and trained by the Order to hunt and execute demons. While on a mission to execute a demon Abigail stubble's upon Haatim Arison, a naive and clueless college graduate who is still recovering from the death of his 16 year old sister. Both Abigail and Haatim come from completely different religious and cultural backgrounds. Haatim, still trying to find himself, grabs at a job offer to take pictures of a woman, Abigail, by a man who believes she is stalking him. In a situation gone wrong, Abigail and Haatim are forced to work together to flee from a cult trying to capture Haatim.

While fleeing the cult with Haatim, Abigail receives a new assignment in the desolate and dark town of Raven's Wood. With a secret agenda of finding her missing mentor, Arthur, Abigail with the help of Haatim travel to Raven's Wood to deal with the strange happenings in the area. But Abigail soon realizes that the town isn't what it seems and becomes aware of something deeply sinister at play, something Abigail has never dealt with before. Determined to rid the world of this new evil threat, Abigail sets out to destroy it without the certainty that she will make it out alive.

Raven's Wood is a gripping and sinister read, with a completely demonic plot. Raven's Wood keeps you reading till the very end. Lincoln Cole's main protagonist Haatim is a college graduate who has lost all faith in God. Haatim spends much time being completely clueless with regards to the supernatural world and demons. The novel is filled with dark humor, abundance of plot twists and lots of gore.

I absolutely loved the novel and rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. I highly recommend this book to paranormal and fantasy lovers. It's unique twists to the demonic realms is a must read and quite a treat to paranormal audiences. The novel has roughly 218 pages and just over 16 chapter of intense drama. The story line is new, fresh and unique, and really keeps the reader glued to the pages. Lincoln Cole has really out done himself and created an extraordinary world that keeps you at the edge of your seat.
