[Following is a volunteer review of "Crimeline Hollywood" by Thomas Collins.]
In "Crimeline Hollywood" by Thomas Collins, Dash Harwood, the renowned astrologer to Hollywood's elite, finds himself thrust into a high-stakes investigation when his famous client, Sparklynn James, is kidnapped. After narrowly escaping a hitman during a high-speed chase, Dash goes into hiding, only to be drawn back into danger as he partners with Rebecca Fairway, a publicity-hungry private investigator. Together, they race against time to decode the cryptic clues Sparklynn, a lover of puzzles, might be leaving in her ransom notes. The novel masterfully blends suspense, action, and humor, especially through Dash’s comedic arguments with his GPS, Nigel. With unexpected twists and a thrilling narrative, "Crimeline Hollywood" is a must-read for fans of tense, fast-paced thrillers.
I enjoyed this book because of the well-developed characters. Dash and Rebecca are compelling, each with distinct personalities that play off each other in fascinating ways. Rebecca’s obsession with her image contrasts perfectly with Dash’s more laid-back yet anxious demeanor, creating an interesting dynamic that kept me hooked. The fast-paced action is another highlight. The story moves quickly, keeping me on the edge of my seat, especially during intense sequences like Dash’s high-speed chase with the hitman. The opening chase scene immediately pulled me into the story, setting a thrilling tone that never let up. The combination of strong character development and relentless action made this book a truly engaging read.
I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The well-developed characters, like the dynamic between Dash and Rebecca, and the fast-paced action, especially the intense chase scenes, make it an absolute page-turner. There’s nothing I could dislike about this book—it kept me engaged from start to finish. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys thrilling mysteries with a mix of humor and well-crafted characters. It’s a must-read for fans of action-packed, suspenseful stories. This book was exceptionally edited.
