Re: Review by kdstrack -- And Then I Met Margaret by Rob White

Yeah, I can definitely see how the format can feel incredibly repetitive. I remember being worried about that myself when I first started reading. It didn’t bother me too, too much in the end. I agree that it could’ve been a little better if he’d changed it a little.

Rob White stands out as a benign fellow even right from childhood. He managed to right his wrong upon realizing the ramifications that would accrue to his dignity in the long run. This motivational book should help many struggling self-starters aspiring for a better life. Thank you for your informative review.

I also read the book and found it a 4-star book. Rob is in his 70s, well-accomplished yet still willing to learn. One is never too old to learn something new - this is, in fact, what he keeps saying throughout the book.

Some find him arrogant. That is the risk of writing a self-help book that uses one's own life as the example. I believe Rob is mature enough to accept the criticism.

I, too, am past middle age. Perhaps that is the reason why I could relate to Rob's "awakenings."

Plot seems appealing. And your review depicts it very well .
Moreover, I find title 'And Then I Met Margaret' quite attractive.

Thanks Yolimari. I liked your Gabriel Garcia Marquez comment - we lived in Colombia for many years!

I actually found it difficult once I realized how the format was repeating in every chapter. I had to read a chapter at a time.
