Alencar de Oliveira Filho's “American Papers: My Love Letters to America” is a powerful examination of what it means to be an American. The book looks into the values that have formed the basis for this nation through reflections and historical insights. Oliveira Filho lauds the resilience and innovative spirit of America, stating critical times and individuals who epitomize these ideals. This piece is a tribute to this country’s relentless pursuit of justice and a utopian future, stressing that America’s basic principles are still important today. In addition, he also described what democracy is by quoting several presidents, such as George Washington. This book lets people experience the American dream again one by one.

The reason why I love this book is its comprehensive historical narratives and poetic devices. One thing that makes me enjoy this interesting piece is its moving speeches by great American presidents like Abraham Lincoln and Franklin D. Roosevelt, which emphasize the nation’s resilience and leadership qualities. Such accounts not only educate but also make one deeply appreciate how much has gone into shaping the United States’ developments amidst all challenges.

Additionally, the inclusion of poetic sections, like the "American Poem," adds a lyrical and emotional appeal that beautifully captures the spirit of America. The author’s poetic expression brings a unique and moving perspective to the narrative, enhancing the overall reading experience. These elements combined make the book an enriching and inspiring tribute to the American spirit.

I will rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I love the detailed historical narratives and the inclusion of poetic sections that capture America's beauty and spirit. There's nothing I could dislike about this book. I highly recommend it to readers who appreciate American history and values, as well as those who enjoy a touch of poetry in their reading. It's an inspiring and enriching read. This book was exceptionally edited.
