Review of Quest: Finding Freddie

[Following is a volunteer review of "Quest: Finding Freddie" by Thomas Richard Spradlin.]
"Quest: Finding Freddie” by Thomas Richard Spradlin is an exciting and mysterious book. The story is about Mr. Frederick, who vanished from the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos. He owned Nachman International Trading Corporation and had traveled to Lagos to close a big telecom deal with the Nigerian government. On the Jewish Sabbath, Mr. Nachman left his hotel room and never came back. This was very worrying because there was some anger towards the Jewish community in the area.
Frederick's wife was very upset and quickly hired Mr. Thomas Richard Spradlin, a lawyer from Clifford and Warnke law office, to find her husband and bring him home. Mr. Spradlin went to Lagos to search for Frederick.
"Quest: Finding Freddie” by Thomas Richard Spradlin is more than just a personal story; it's also a history lesson. The book taught me a lot about Nigeria's time after colonial rule and the political problems back then. It was full of unrest and instability. The book is well-organized into thirteen chapters, and the author knows a lot about the region and its history, which is impressive.
I was impressed by the author's ability to make a non-fiction story engaging and easy to follow, despite its complex historical and political themes. The clear language and additional context provided by footnotes made the story rich and immersive. The author struck a great balance between providing historical background and unraveling the mystery of Freddie's disappearance. Plus, Nwando's story about becoming a sex worker in Lagos touched my heart, keeping me hooked from start to finish.
I’d give this book 5 out of 5 stars for its detailed story, emotional depth, and beautiful writing style. There are no major negatives, and the few minor errors don't affect the professional editing, making it an easy and enjoyable read. I highly recommend it to historians and mystery lovers. No dislikes.
