Kennedy’s Revenge: The Election of 2016 by Stephen L. Rodenbeck is the story of Fitzgerald Cavendish’s search for his roots. He searches for his family and for his country.

The book presents two different stories. One deals with the fictional character, Fitzgerald Cavendish. The second story is a review of historical events from a different point of view, with many facts that the majority of people have never heard. The pace of the book is interesting as the author moves the reader through history while at the same time advancing the fictional story.

Fitz never knew his father. When his grandmother dies, he discovers several letters that lead him to the discovery that his father was John F. Kennedy. He devises a plan that enables him to participate in the 2016 US presidential debates and election. Some of Fitz’s plans anger the powerful, wealthy organizations that hold a heavy hand over political policy. Fitz must decide how he will confront and deal with this opposition.

In the history chapters of the book, the author presents the origins and development of these powerful groups. The root cause of the power struggle between these groups and the populace is money. Those who control the flow of money have an insatiable hunger for more wealth and achieve this goal by controlling the banks and money.

The author does an excellent job of piquing the interest and making the reader reconsider the manner in which history has been presented to us. There were some topics that I questioned, but found them easily online with abundant supporting material. There are also several appendixes to explain some of the more difficult concepts presented in the text.

I hesitated in choosing this book thinking it would be another rehashing of the Kennedy assassination conspiracy. This book is much more. The Kennedy assassination is just one link in a long chain of events in a master plan. The author keeps the mood of the book informative yet questioning.

I found one position of the author to be illogical. He affirms that those who desire money will never be happy no matter how much they accumulate. They will always aspire for more. When another group is presented that also wants to acquire wealth, in the form of land, he believes that this group will be content if we just give them what they want. Why the double standard? Does human nature not work equally in both groups? I found it to be unreasonable and illogical to believe that one group will never stop acquiring wealth but another group can be trusted to be content if they only receive the object of their desire.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It is well written and also well documented. The author did an excellent job of balancing the material between the history portions and the fictional chapters.

If you enjoy history, this book is for you. You will learn of many events that are not included in any history books. People who are interested in finance will also learn a great deal from this book. The author explains the difference between debt-free and debt-based money and how it affects the economy of a country. There are also numerous references to movies and books if you want to learn more about our lost history.
