The Novel Ever After is about Cindy and her own issues with her parents, how that makes her disbelieve in love and marriage. That in turn leads her to take love and marriage as useless and futile with no hope and only areal until she meets Julian. Its about the way he makes her feel and experience as a friend that makes her demand more. She feels consumed by Julian and develops feelings and attachment that were not there before.
The novel is very consuming and captivating and very sweetly writing that it makes you crave for more and more. The way to describe the characters and story are very excellent with the good amount of grammar, adjectives and dialogues. The characters in turn can be distinguished by their words, behavior, reaction and style that is how they demand things to be, such as their habit of luxury clothes, excellent food and wonderful houses.
Julian is presented as a rich self- made man despite his rich parents, he worked to be what he is today but still has his own values that of being humble and funny at times. He is also very caring when it comes to Cindy and does everything that he can to be with her even lies to her. Julian's love for Cindy makes you want to be in Cindy's place and also envy her for getting such a caring, loving, gentle, handsome, rich and still nice lover. The extend to which he goes for Cindy is specially his one biggest positive point that will really make you want such a man in your life even as a friend.
The sexual tension and atmosphere is very very high but yet not cheap in any way, the words and situations used are very subtle and wonderful along with being very impacting. Its very neat and clean situation that you could not think could lead to any kind of sexual thoughts. The way of Cindy to think, behave, react and talk to Julian is also very nicely written in that it shows her vulnerable, innocent side yet her intimate thoughts and how much she would really like to lose all that just for him. Its the way she stops thinking rationally when it comes to him and ready to forgone any resolutions or issues that could have stopped her from approaching him even if these are of her own.
There is also the rich and vivid description of the houses and places with a deep detailed to everything and situations that make it seem so real. You just cannot seem to get enough of the book and of its story and the way it all started, the happenings that in turn bring you to the end of the novel. The title is really suitable to the book and the story. Its a must read book that you will not regret if you really believe in ever-after or romance.
So I rate this book 2 out of 4 stars.
