CURVE COUTURE BY H M IRWING is a story of discovery of one’s self in a world where perception is reality.
Society’s views of what is sexy is challenged in this romantic tale of fashion, fame, and love.
Being behind the camera instead of in front always brings stereotypes and misjudgments. You never know what’s really going on behind the scenes. High prices clothes, secret scandals, and waist Trainers! Claire Williams is a curvy size 18 and modeling agent to Janice Williams, a world known superstar and her vapid younger sister. After a regretful night spent with a male model, Claire begins to reevaluate her life and her attachment to her sister. She attempts to sell her contract to renowned talent agent, former model, and her man crush every day; Erin Robertson, who declines her offer and instead wants her to sign to his agency as a plus sized model. Unbeknownst to her, he’s really interested in her romantically. In disbelief she accepts and is taken on a whirlwind of fashion, family drama and love. Claire finds the courage to embrace her plus size body; express how she really feels for her sister, and takes the steps toward the man that she’s loved from a far.
Throughout Curve Couture you wanted her to gain more confidence in herself and really own her body and her fierceness as a model. It felt like she didn’t believe that everyone found her sexy and wanted her to be the face of their next show. Her sister Janice was the true definition of a diva. You wished for a trip or a smack in the face in her future.
Leading man Erin was very unpredictable; one moment he was romantic, then angry because someone hit on her, next her butt would be red from a spanking. It was not easy to follow his moods and you weren’t very sure at first if he truly loved her or was just a very possessive guy; luckily He shows his true colors in the end…The love scenes were good, the dialogue between them was very raunchy, and then the description of the act used more creative vocabulary. It gave you a different feeling than what was created by the rough housing, or spanking.
Overall an enjoyable read. I rate this a 3 out of 4 stars. It showed a woman who didn’t think much of herself, blossom and take control of her life. Her humor was spot on, and you really rooted for her happy ending.
