[Following is a volunteer review of "Lonely Riders" by Michael D. Dennis.]

Lonely Riders by Michael D. Dennis is a fast-paced sci-fi novel that follows Kyle Whalen as his life takes an unexpected turn after accepting a job offer from an enigmatic figure named Michael. Down on his luck and facing a bleak future, Kyle is desperate for any opportunity to provide for himself and the love of his life, Elise. However, Kyle soon learns that some offers are too good to be true, as he is thrust into a reality-shattering experiment.

This novel tells an action-packed story as Kyle faces conflict after conflict, constantly questioning what is real. He is forced to choose between how to save the world or whether or not to protect himself and his loved ones.

One aspect I enjoyed about this book is the author’s descriptive writing. Each scene is rendered with extraordinarily vivid details, painting a crystal-clear picture. Additionally, the book is well-written, with no noticeable typos or grammar mistakes. The premise of the story is also unique and interesting.

However, there were a couple of things I disliked. Firstly, the pacing was erratic. The story would speed up and slow down unpredictably, which was confusing. The storyline itself was also confusing, and the rules of the world were never clearly explained. Overall, I had a difficult time staying engaged, as I often felt lost and confused. Even after rereading the book several times, much of the story remained unclear, with many elements needing better explanations.

I would give this book 4 out of 5 stars. The reasoning for this rating is due to the unique and intriguing premise, the author’s spectacular descriptions, and the professional editing. However, I would have appreciated the book more if the pacing had been consistent and the storyline more coherent. While the story had great potential, its execution could have been better. I recommend this book to mature readers due to its explicit sexual scenes and heavy profanity. Fans of science fiction would also enjoy this book.

Kyle is stuck between a rock and a hard place. The dilemma of saving the world or his family adds a lot of tension to the story. The author's descriptive writing is engaging but the lack of coherence in the storyline causes confusion and disinterest. That is unfortunate for you as the reader. Hopefully, the author will take your constructive criticism into account to bring the book up to 5-star status. Thank you for this detailed and honest review.

I’m very interested in this reality-shattering experiment. I wonder what that could be. I think it could be really cool. The pacing issues could ruin the whole thing for me, though. I just read a book that was engaging and interesting, but the ending was just so slow, and it all happens sort of accidentally. As I said in my review, it didn’t stick the landing. So I’m kinda turned off by the pacing issues. And that’s a shame, cause the premise sounds really good.

This sounds like the author had a very engaging idea for his story but the execution could use some work. I can understand how a story with inconsistent and erratic pacing would be difficult to follow and frustrating to read. Thank you for your honest review!
