I'm glad you enjoyed it. But I tried reading this book multiple times to my four-year-old (who is crazy about books and about animals--giraffes being her favorite), and she was not interested at all. No accounting for taste at that age, but I can't give a blanket recommendation for this book.

I do think the text is too long for the younger audience, as it may not hold their attention as well. That was one reason I did not rate this book 4 stars. I'm not sure if that is why your 4 year old doesn't like it, but if so I can understand completely. I haven't even tried reading this to my 3 year old yet! ?
Thanks for your thoughts!
