Marrying a playboy billionaire by H M Irwing is a romantically themed erotic novel. The free copy I received was in PDF format and had 132 pages. The story is about Aria Longbottom and her sudden romance with her childhood friend and multi-billionaire, Justin Kay. Justin is a renowned playboy and starts the relationship off with a marriage proposal. Aria is still nursing a terrible breakup from her boyfriend 5 years ago and weary of men. Will Justin’s playboy image ruin the relationship? Or will Aria yield to her own insecurities on love and romance?

The story begins 5 years after Aria’s breakup with her former boyfriend Dale Carmichael. Dale left her for her cousin Linda. This left her with deep personal doubt and insecurities when it comes to relationships. She constantly blames herself for not being pretty or assertive enough.

Justin Kay is Sidney’s most eligible bachelor as mentioned in different tabloids. Famed for his playboy demeanor. Despite this public persona he harbors deep personal loss. His loss had only been relieved once 5 years ago. When at his new year’s costume party, he had a drunk-induced, deeply passionate encounter with a masked woman. He suspects Aria to be the masked woman. Justin doesn't waste time in forcing her to admit it and goes on further to propose marriage on their first meeting since the party. What follows is a hot lustful relationship that covers the rest of the story.

The author does a great job of creating believable characters that blend well with the plot. Aria comes off as insecure, which is not totally unwarranted - Justin is a highly fancied playboy billionaire. Her insecurities are however, not easily dispelled - even with the mutual infatuation between them. Justin is however, more assertive and charismatic.

This is an erotic novel, sexual scenes are many and intense – a sure hit for fans of this genre. I could separate the book into 2. The first bit is the lust-driven romance common in new relationships. With descriptions like;
“Hot lips instantly pressed into my ear…the hot breathe swept through the skin right smack into the blood flow.”
“His lips formed all known shapes against mine…drawing all rational thought processes to a halt.”
It then plateaus through to the second bit where the scenes reduce as the relationship matures, eventually ending in a dramatic wedding event.

Aria’s character came off too timid and insecure. I found it rather annoying. The author’s descriptions of sex scenes were mostly from a female perspective. Though I am sure it would appeal to some fans - I had to skip them at times (they were many!). As a hetero-sexual male, I found it tedious reading. Especially through detailed descriptions of male features.

In total, I came through about 3 errors in the book. But they were far between and hardly noticeable. Like one instead of on. It is for these reasons that I would rate this book 2 out of 4 stars. I deducted a point for the plot, it was too cliché for this genre. Where a dashing young lass with a broken heart falls madly in love with a wealthy bachelor, who is secretly reeling under some hidden grief. I deducted another star for the sex scenes; I’d prefer some inclusion of male perspective in the thick of things. It still had a believable plot; it was good to see the female side of a relationship. I would recommend it to fans of the erotic and romance genre. This book is not recommended for minors!

The book sounds mildly interesting but the plot, as you said, is a bit cliche and that's coming from someone who LOVES romance books! I've encountered a few romance books and even series that intertwine the male view with that of the female during intimate scenes but these are the exception, not the rule. I do tend to enjoy these types of scenes just as much (if not more) than those just from the female perspective, especially if the main protagonist is the man, not the woman. I might take a glance at this one, but am not certain I will end up reading it. Thanks for the review!

Curiosity made me punch this link. I wanted to see what other reviews are available here by H. M. Irwing. I think this author needs to step up in romantic story writing; ain't just about erotic...the storyline should be realistic too!

I'm not into erotic books but the storyline of this book sounds interesting. Great review.
