Review of The Final Keystone
History, in all its glory, using historically authentic language is the overarching theme of John Kevin Crowley's nonfiction novel, ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ช๐ฏ๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ฆ๐บ๐ด๐ต๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฆ. Readers are apprised of the philosophies of the day, and the author's opinions, supported by historical data, comprising a highly educational and informative read. The aesthetically pleasing feel of the mythical tales and legends lends a magical and charming texture to the prose.
The author explains how the ancient Romans would conquer their neighbours by plundering their lands and absorbing their resources, thus becoming a power unto themselves. Ancient Rome had the perfect business model under the leadership of the legendary Julius Caesar until they were attacked by the Gothic Barbarians, leading to their downfall. There is an intrinsic message for humanity, within these historical facts which transcend cultural barriers but history will continue to repeat itself and the teachings ignored to the detriment of us all.
The author seamlessly and effortlessly integrates themes of philosophy and science fiction with historical facts, providing readers with a clear understanding of the message being conveyed. The book prompts one to ponder and contemplate the thought-provoking consequences of ignoring the ethics behind technological advancements in today's society. I particularly enjoyed the exploration of the teachings of Aristotle, Plato and Socrates and pivotal historical events such as the Reformation, the Russian and French Revolutions and WW1.
This was an extraordinary read: eloquently written and packed into a few pages which will resonate with enthusiasts of historical fact and profound philosophies. The exemplary editing and extensive research ensure a captivating read from beginning to end. It gives me great pleasure to award this book with a full star rating of five out of five stars. There was nothing that I disliked and found that I benefited greatly from its immersive and contemplative narrative.
๐๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ช๐ฏ๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ฆ๐บ๐ด๐ต๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฆ will appeal to students of history and philosophy as it provides a wealth of information on the subject matter. I can heartily recommend it to those seeking an educational and immersive read about the demise of governments and civilisations who ignored the important messages that history provided them with.
