In A Kingdom Forgotten, Charles W. McDonald Jr. tells a big story that breaks the rules of time and space. In the story, we meet Royvan Miral, a seasoned adventurer who finds an old scroll called the Scroll of Carnac. This discovery sends him on a dangerous journey. He's joined by Damon, a mysterious mage with a powerful amulet that lets him open portals between different worlds. Damon's actions could have big consequences for everyone. Royvan faces the scary prophecies of the scroll and the weight of what he finds out. Along the way, we meet different characters with their own stories and reasons for being there.

Each one's story is tied to the fate of the Nine Kingdoms. The story happens in a world full of old magic, forgotten technology, and special symbols. Everything is described in a lot of detail, making the world both amazing and a little strange. This book talks about big ideas like power, fate, and what happens when you make choices. The characters struggle with these ideas as they try to save their world from disaster or change it for the better. The mission to understand the scroll and stop a predicted disaster is what holds the story together, making this book a deep and interesting book that keeps you guessing.

What I like about this book is its ambitious scope and the author's willingness to push the boundaries of traditional fantasy and science fiction genres. The reason this resonates with me is that it offers a fresh and exhilarating reading experience. Charles W. McDonald Jr. creates a universe with its own set of rules, blending elements that challenge my expectations. It's rare to find a book that manages to surprise me with its depth and innovation, and this daring approach to storytelling is both refreshing and intellectually stimulating. It's a journey that encourages me to think outside the box and immerse myself in a world that is both familiar and wonderfully strange.

There is nothing I found dislikeable about this book, primarily because of its originality and the author's clear dedication to crafting a unique story. The complexity of the narrative might be daunting for some, but for me, it adds to the richness of the reading experience. The challenge of keeping up with the various storylines is a rewarding one, as each thread comes together to form a compelling and cohesive whole. The author's commitment to his vision is evident on every page, making any potential narrative hurdles worth the effort to overcome. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free.

I gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars as it is an ambitious and refreshing take on fantasy and science fiction genres, offering a unique and exhilarating reading experience. Charles W. McDonald Jr. creates a rich and immersive universe that challenges conventional storytelling boundaries, keeping me engaged and intellectually stimulated throughout. The book's originality and the author's dedication to crafting a compelling narrative shine through, making it a standout work in its genre. The rating is not affected because there's nothing to dislike about this book. While the complexity of the narrative might be daunting for some, it adds depth and richness to the overall reading experience.
