[Following is a volunteer review of "Where Is Your Eternal Destiny? Heaven or Hell" by Vi Lindemuth.]
Vi Hindemith's 'Where is your eternal destiny? Heaven or Hell' was a profound and vital wake-up call. I highly recommend it to everyone who is a follower of Christ. Both new believers and long-time believers will find this book to be a valuable resource. The collection of stories, parables, and verses from the Bible together in one place is extremely beneficial. The chapters are both short and easy to read, and some of them have thought-provoking questions at the end. These questions were useful for me to reflect on myself and as a starting point for conversations.
Having been a believer for a long time and having read these stories many times, this book was a refresher for me. The stories are brought back to life, and their importance brought to the forefront of my mind. In my daily life, I tend to be distracted and occupied with the present moment, forgetting about eternity. It seems like a long way off, yet it's not. The author conveyed a sense of urgency to ensure my life is on track and to ensure that I teach my children as well. I was reminded of how quickly the end is approaching and how fleeting our time on Earth is. The actions I take now influence my eternity and potentially the eternity of those around me. Making the most of our lives and taking advantage of every opportunity to introduce people to Jesus is crucial.
Vi's conviction to spread the truth about the afterlife and remind believers that their lives on Earth are short is evident throughout the entire book. Her thoughts have been clearly expressed, and verses from the Bible have been used to support them. She has done an excellent job of providing a tool to accompany her life's mission.
Some new information that I learned blew me away. The story of the rich man in Chapter 3 indicates that he has been in Hell for over 2000 years. This is something I've never considered before. It was a profound realization for me. The author makes Hell a very real place, and her use of scripture as support only solidifies everything. Thanks to the book, I am reminded of the reality and finality of Hell and the temporality of life on Earth. I give this book an excellent 5 out of 5 rating. It was very well written and organized. The writing was clear and easy to understand. There isn't anything I would suggest changing.
