“WAIT A MINUTE! (An Illustrated Novella)" by Steve William Laible is part of the Stevie Tenderheart Books collection. Stevie Tenderheart is the major character in the book and is portrayed as a lively and humorous little boy with a strong and vivid imagination.

His bed, a favourite resting place, is the main setting in the story, because this is where he daydreams about loading it with anything imaginable, from toys and delicious snacks to monkeys, lizards, lions, and even dinosaurs. Eventually, he discovers that these fantasies will not come to pass, as they are only a product of his imaginative abilities. I found it adorable when he bid his friends goodbye and fell into a relaxing sleep.

I enjoyed the author’s writing style and found the book to be an enjoyable read. Its rich and vivid illustrations are captivating and something any child will enjoy looking at. Laible puts such creativity into writing that it will put any child’s imagination to flight. He equally uses a simple conversational tone to engage his audience, making it a beautiful read for kids.

I like how colourful some words are, as it adds intrigue to the book. This will make the kids commit these colours to memory. One major takeaway in this book is the importance of eating healthy foods and having fun during bath time. These lessons make the book both educational and interesting.

I could not find any errors; hence, the book is well edited. Again, I found nothing to dislike, as the author did a great job of compiling this book. Therefore, I rate it 5 out of 5 stars for the above-mentioned reasons.

I highly recommend the book to parents and guardians who have kids aged between 3 and 8, as they would find this book a perfect bedtime story.

The vivid and intricate designs will captivate the attention of any child. I adore that certain colors have words attached with them, which increases the likelihood that a youngster will learn colors and identify objects with those colors.

This book portrays exactly how imaginative children can be. I remember when I was little. I would often daydream and create war stories in my head. I'd like to read this children's book.
