Who Told You That You Were Naked, by William E. Combs, was a very interesting read. The point o the book was to essentially break down the connection of the Garden of Eden and the current day Christian’s walk with Christ. The book breaks down many aspects to the Christian walk and lays it out in simple text so that someone who is new in the faith can understand alongside someone who has been a believer for decades.

The book was really refreshing and it says in the sub title, A Refreshing Reexamination of the Garden of Eden, in the way that he brought in some narrative alongside the factual layout of the actual story taken from the Bible. He made it so that I could see Adam and Eve as real people and not just these figures on a page.

In total, I give the book 3 out of 4 stars due to the fact that the book is published in double space and it made it so that the book was printed longer than needed. Also I connected really well with the first half of the book, but I had a hard time sticking with it and not trailing off in the second half. I believe that is mostly because there was more narrative that I was hoping the author would use throughout the book, but he only used it for a couple chapters. It would be a great introduction to Christianity for someone you are trying to witness to.

But the author’s talent in explaining something as complicated as the Garden of Eden can’t go unrecognized. The book has been obviously professionally edited, accept for the choice of line spacing, but I was unable to find any typo mistakes, which I am happy to report. I can just see that this book would have been a better audio book since the book starts to get dry toward the end. But his Biblical knowledge is very sound and I was impressed at his expression of the commentary of the verses he has chosen for the book.

One thing I loved though was all the personal stories in it. I won’t give anything away, but I did really enjoy them. When an author adds his own story to the book he is writing, then it just makes it that more personal. You as the reader feel like the author is sitting there having coffee with you and telling you about their journey through life. It also gives the author creditability. If an author only preaches at you without the feeling of them really understanding you, then the book is useless. You can only write what you know and William E. Combs does know his Bible and it makes me want to just dig deeper into mine. So I would highly recommend this book because there are many things in it that would only enhance your life.
