I really like the sound of this one - a real thinker. Thanks for your review :)
"Every reader is, while he is reading, the reader of his own self. The writer's work is merely a kind of optical instrument which he offers to the reader to enable him to discern what...he would perhaps never have perceived in himself."

A writer has a peculiar illness unknown to his psychiatrists: he becomes one of the characters of his books every new day. A strange idea.
Thanks for the review.

Stunning review:) The book sounds a little too nutty for me, but I really dig this review.

From its unusual title one can infer that it is a novel that can challenge peoples' imaginations and thoughts.

Pablo Pisces' case could have been s result of disappoints and frustration.

The writing of Mois Benarroch should wake people who judge any form of artistic work up to their responsibilities.

Thanks for the detailed review though I am not intrigued because I think it is overtly secular for me.

Jorge Acuario is the well respected but underfunded writer in question who punctuates his awkward encounters with lines like, “More and more often I make people laugh without intending to do so, and at night, it made me weep.” This is great. I am interested to take a look at the lives of the writers through this book.

This is a really good review! Book sounds very intriguing. Reading the sample and the review has made me curious about the book and the title.

This is such a quotable line:"Our self-conception is vulnerable to passing fancy. " Is it from the book?

I think this book is unique. Despite the short length, The Nobel Prize orchestrates a highly fascinating plot, which seems to lose track of itself along the way: a writer is inspired by one of his old writer friends who has a peculiar mental illness where he takes on the personality of characters from books he has written. A good dose of irony and satire is included as well, giving a very hallucinatory effect along with the narrating style.

What a beautiful review! This story sounds like it could make you think- even when you're not expecting it. Has the author written anything else that someone would recommend?

Thanks!

MarisaRose wrote:I've sampled some of this author's work before, but had a hard time with his style. However, the premise of this book sounds really unique - I love the idea of the author's perspective and taking on a different character's persona daily. I'll have to read the sample for this one, as I'm still unsure how I feel about the writing style (I think a lot gets lost in translation with this particular author).
I am reading one of his books now and it hasn't been easy. I had to endure :D . but really this review sounds great. I think I agree with you on the translation issues. But professional translators can do a better job, I think.

This book seems like a type I would not like. But, I am sure this "novella" would be good for others to read - especially if you happen to like introspective works. Also reminds me of I Am The Cheese.

The author should have you (clyoblue) write the description of his Amazon novel.I was kinda, "Ho hum," after reading the description but after reading the review, the book seemed far more interesting!
