[Following is a volunteer review of "Waterworks" by Jack Winnick.]
If you like espionage/political thrillers, think Jack Ryan, then this is a great choice for you! I thoroughly enjoyed the read, it was quick and painless and the editing was top-notch. The author, Jack Winnick is masterful at world-building, I believed and enjoyed the exotic locations, and he gives us a novel inner glimpse at the behind-the-scenes life of his globe-trotting spies. I enjoyed getting to know the two main characters' internal workings, as it were, and he even provided insight into the minds of their antagonists! This is not Tom Clancy level spy craft, if I have a complaint it's that his action/combat sequences can get a little muddy, but it's definitely a good representation of the genre. All-in-all I consider my time in this world well spent and I will be looking at the other books in the series. I jumped in at book 5 and compliments to Mr. Winnick as I could continue on without feeling like I missed vital information in previous works!
