Snatched Up To Heaven For Kids is a Christian faith children’s book written by Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul. The narrative presents a slice of life from the view of an eight year old girl named Emma who has multiple dreams which she shares with her family. Her images are filled with her perception of heaven, Jesus, God, other biblical characters and hell.

The intended audience for this work would be that of Christian Sunday school for chapter readers. Even so, this book was a bit too wordy. If you aim to acclimate your children to biblical teachings, then this book serves as a possible starting point. The virtues postulated throughout the narrative were those of righteousness, reverence, and forgiveness. On the other hand, there was a reference to the transgression of disobedience. The punishments for this vice included torture and death if one does not repent, making this story a possible topic for discussion and one you may want to reconsider prior to bedtime. The topics inferred in the story are assisted with Bible references, allowing for the reader to interact with biblical text.

The illustrations were alluring and correlated well with the theme.

I was apprehensive when I first acquired this book. From the title, I wrongfully assumed the subject would be dealing with a child and their experience in the afterlife. The book had a much more innocent theme, and I was very grateful.

I was unable to give this story a perfect score, because I felt, although this story was nice, it could have benefited from showing the child reader what good and bad actions look like. After reading the narrative, the underlining point of if you are good then you go to heaven, if you are bad then you go to hell, just did not sit comfortably with me without more explanation. The meaning of good and bad is up for interpretation.
