[Following is a volunteer review of "Because He Loved Us" by Sharon Williams.]
Because He Loved Us by Sharon Williams delves into the birth, ministry, and miracles of Jesus Christ, forming the foundational narrative of Christianity chronicled in the New Testament of the Bible. Jesus, born in Bethlehem to the Virgin Mary and Joseph, stands as a central figure in Christian theology, with his birth commemorated on Christmas, symbolizing the Incarnation, where the divine became human.
At around the age of 30, Jesus initiated his ministry by being baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River. This event marked the commencement of his public life and the manifestation of his divine role. The Gospels portray Jesus as a charismatic teacher, healer, and moral exemplar. His teachings, often conveyed through parables, centered on love, compassion, forgiveness, and the Kingdom of God.
Miracles played a pivotal role in Jesus' ministry, illustrating his divine authority. These supernatural acts included healing the sick, restoring sight to the blind, and even raising the dead. One of the most renowned miracles is the feeding of the five thousand, where Jesus multiplied a small amount of loaves and fish to feed a multitude. These miracles not only demonstrated compassion but also served as signs pointing to his identity as the Son of God.
This Christian storybook offers moral guidance, instills values, and imparts biblical lessons in an engaging manner. It provides a platform for children to learn about faith, love, compassion, and the importance of kindness through relatable narratives. Additionally, it can strengthen family bonds by facilitating discussions about spiritual topics. The book, engaging and accessible for all ages, is professionally edited, and I encountered no errors during my reading. I found nothing to dislike about the book, leading me to rate it 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend this book to both children and adults who are Christians and admire the work of Jesus.
