[Following is a volunteer review of "Zona: The Forbidden Land" by Fred G. Baker.]
Zona: The Forbidden Land is a novel by Fred G. Baker that encompasses various themes. The book tells the story of Dr. Grant Taylor, who goes to Russia when his uncle is proclaimed dead. He finds clues that his uncle might still be alive and decides to go check it out for himself.
Grant travels to Zona and discovers that it is strange and dangerous, inhabited by mysterious creatures and powerful forces. He also learns that his uncle was searching for a lost civilization that is said to be hidden in Zona. Grant sets out to find his uncle and learn the truth about Zona. Along the way, he teams up with a group of explorers and warriors searching for the lost civilization.
The author used tension and excitement to tell an adventure narrative in a distinctive way. The characters were skillfully presented by the author, Fred, and I really like how they were developed at a suitable clip. Maps of Zona are included in the novel. Readers can use this map to guide them through the book. My favorite character was Irina. She was always thoughtful and compassionate. Her affection was lovely to see.
I adore how the writer keeps the audience interested by building just the right amount of tension. The author expertly creates tension by introducing it at the right moments. I really like that the book wasn't very long. This book's author appears to agree with the viewpoint that wild animals should always be left in their natural environment and that humans should refrain from domesticating them.
I found nothing wrong with the book. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. There were no grammatical errors, showing that it was expertly edited. Zona is a thrilling adventure story that combines elements of science and fiction. Overall, Zona is a well-written and enjoyable novel that is sure to appeal to fans of science fiction, fantasy, and adventure.
