Has your heart been broken where it left you jaded? Have you give up on the notion that love is possible? This book, “For the Love of Suzanne”, by Kristi Hudecek-Ashwill will restore that love is possible. This book show the power of love.
The main characters in this book is Suzanne and Cody.

It starts out telling the dark world that Suzanne lived in with her husband. That is the world of domestic abuse, emotional abuse, and sexual abuse. She get pregnant and she decided to leave her scum of husband. This is great! One of the things I found to be the most appealing was when Suzanne said, “She quickly grabbed a butcher knife from the cutlery block on the counter and held it to his genitals (page 56, 57)” Suzanne was determined not to be abused anymore. She wanted to look out for the welfare of her baby. Most domestic abuse survivors’, like myself, known that when you trying to tell he abuser no, it can get ugly. Most of known that we have to grab something to defend our life or our children life. My love for Suzanne picked up here. I was so proud of her getting rid of that scum, and thinking of her baby.

I have volunteer in a domestic abuse shelter, had friends in it, friends out, I was in for 12 plus years, and a friend killed in one. Getting out is so important! It not easy. Suzanne determination is was what made it beautiful. Then one day there is a car accident when Suzanne was driving.

It at this moment, she has unknown time travel experience. She sees Cody in the road. During their adventures we have history lessons about treatment of Native American Indians, forbidding for a white women to be with Native American Indian. We also discovered in this book that Cody is half Native American, and White. He mentions about the outcast treatment he received on both sides. It a good lessons to understand the struggles of mixed people, especially Native American Indians’ during the time. Sadly, we still today have that ignorance with folks being mixed. I am mix. True, some things have got better. There is still a long road ahead. That is how life works.

Again in these adventures of Cody and Suzanne we learned the power of love. During the time when they were return back to the future, they were lost during that transaction. Despite being separated for seven months, they still love each other and did not give up hope. If Suzanne really gave up on hope, she would have never made those trips to visit the place where they returned from the time travel, and try to find Cody.

I recommend this book to everyone. Why? This world is filled with hate. Love conquers all. I would especially recommended reading this book with any person who been abuse relationship. All due respect, even if it only emotional abuse, it still is abused. I feel this book talks about the different forms of abuse. There is nothing to change in this book.

This book need to be on your reading list for next book to read. This book is a4 out of 4I will explain my reasons. The first reason is give people the knowledge that no matter how dark a previous relationship was, love can still be found with another person. Second reason for my rating is this book explains it not like a fairy tale with love. Again, the fortitude of Suzanne to protect her baby is also why I gave this rating a three. Again, this book shows the hardships that this book brings. That is my final reason for the ratings. It is better to try, then not to try at all. Despite how bad your previous relationship, read this book. Through this book you will the power of love.

Very good review about a book that obviously treats a difficult subject extremely well - I also like books with an element of time travel in, another reason for me to seek it out.
