This book was entertaining, but not great. I'll start my review with what I believe were the good things:

I personally identified with the story of Sabrina Hunter, because I've been on the very skinny side of life and then on the overweight side, trying to go back to the skinny side without luck. She's a funny character (I laughed out loud several times) which made the reading enjoyable, and the first-person format worked quite well with the narrative. Editing was not bad and it’s a short book, so it wasn’t hard to put myself through it until the end.

I would recommend it if you were looking for a funny, easy read, one that you know is not going to change your life and it’s not going to bring any type of challenge.

It is completely linear, even though the main character goes through some hardships, the experience doesn’t feel like it has ups and downs, and in the end, the resolution for everything turns out very easy. There’s no big conflict, and I was never worried about everyone getting a “happily ever after” ending, which is exactly what happened.

I guess there are lessons we could apply to our lives, but it feels unrealistic. The characters are not believable and all of them were predictable, they all absolutely helped the main character without question and there was no villain, or at least no one to push the story in another direction.

There’s even a love story that I would have skipped completely, given the topic of the book. Everything happened perfectly from the beginning for her, and the problems happened in their head only, totally resolved smoothly by the end, that’s what made it unrealistic and not believable, while predictable at the same time.

Like I said, read it to pass the time, and laugh if you like silly humor, but don’t expect anything more from this book.
