[Following is a volunteer review of "Their Winter Burn" by Mary Ann Trail.]
I’ve finished reading the book Their Winter Burn by Mary Ann Trail and I quite liked it. It is a murder mystery novel and is pretty good. It was my first book from the author and she didn’t disappoint me. It is quite interesting and I think it will be enjoyed by a majority of readers. Even though there isn’t any sexually explicit content, there is a bit of romantic content expressing the intimacy between the main characters. So I think readers aged 16 and above are suitable to read this book. The writing style isn’t much complicated and is easy to read. Since it is a murder mystery novel, I think it could’ve been a bit more exciting to read because it didn't make me curious enough to find out the mystery. The story progressed rather slowly and it took me a while to finish reading the book. I also found it quite difficult to understand the characters and their relationship with each other. It was confusing since there were a lot of characters in the main household and the narration took quite some time to make it clear who was who. There wasn't any notable profanity and it is quite well written. The editing team has done a pretty good job in my opinion since I couldn’t find any notable grammatical errors. But I did find a few typing mistakes which may not be intentional. So from the above reasons i would rate this book four out of five. I wasn’t really sure if I would like this book when I first chose to read it since im not really a fan of historical novels. I usually find them boring but contrary to my expectations I really enjoyed reading this one. So i would recommend this book to even those who are not a fan of historical novels like me.
