Review of Purpose

[Following is a volunteer review of "Purpose" by Gina Bianchini.]
As I read Gina's book 'Purpose' I felt as if I was on a journey. Beginning with finding my own purpose and practicing self-awareness, to arriving in a place where the concept of community was painted with new colors. Her life and professional experiences will take readers into the tech industry in a new and thought-provoking way. Most of us know about the harms attached to social media habits, but Gina shows us how it goes beyond that and covers up our purpose, therefore, our need for authentic community.
I gave 'Purpose' 4 out of 4 because I believe everyone who cares about themselves, finding their purpose, and who desires a sense of community should not only read this excellent book, but share it with others. If you apply yourself to the exercises and questions Gina provides, it is like receiving some darn good therapy!
But that's the catch with this book and why I gave it 4 out of 5. Only certain people with a mindset toward personal growth, tech savviness, and a heart for community will invest the time to develop and grow personally through the steps Gina lays out in her book.
When I am in a different place in life, I plan to read this book again and work my way more thoroughly through all of the exercises and questions. As someone who is going through a life transition, I couldn't agree more with Gina that these are the times when we need community the most. That's why I plan to delve back into 'Purpose' so that I can take full advantage of her insight, experience, and knowledge.
I do believe that Gina is on to something significant, perhaps groundbreaking. Our current culture would do well to learn from her to better understand the trajectory of community and pay attention to how it relates to the future of technology. I can't wait to start developing my own community!
