Twisted Threads is a book that has a little bit of every genre included. It has romance, suspense, mystery, erotica, and violence. This is a book of a series, but truly does stand alone as the plot was easily followed without reading the prior books. Akira goes on a cruise with her “father” and has a job to do as a trained assassin. She comes up with a plan to “woo” an onboard passenger to get more information about her target. She is a great actress and at times you wonder if she is really acting or not. This book has many twists and turns and makes it a great suspenseful read. The author goes in to great detail about the off-shore excursions as well and makes the relationship between Akira and Devon more believable with the amount of time they spend together.
I would give this book a 4 out of 4 stars as it kept me engaged and intrigued the entire way through. It was exceptionally well edited and I found no errors within the book itself. There is a lot of erotica scenes so this book is not for the faint of heart in that category. There is sexual abuse as well that can be triggering for some readers. This book has some bloody scenes as well. The author is very skilled in being descriptive with her scenes. I wish I would have gotten a little more of a background in Takashi’s character as he seems to be an important one in the book. Overall, this book was a great read and I would recommend it to my friends and family. I may even go back and read the first books in the series. The author did a great job with a great story line and well-developed characters.
