Beating Death (resubmission) is a fictional book that follows the life and story of Robert O'banion, an ex navy veteran who possesses a unique ability that not too many people have. The book is filled with stories of hidden magic covens but somehow blends in subtle instances of normal life. Beating Death (Resubmission) also provides an adequate amount of flashbacks for the reader to get a deeper understanding and insight on the life of the antagonist previously and up to the point in time in which the story is being told.

I would rate the book 3 out of 5 stars. I give the book this rating because while it has an enticing story line, it has too many instances of prolonged suspense, where the author hints at a certain thing and then goes on to explaid said thing in much later chapters. Furthermore, it tends to lack a certain aspect of being realistic (as realistic as a book with magic can get), as seen in the antagonist's unquestionable trust towards a group of women who are absolute strangers.
