Beautiful illustrations help to tell the story of Heaven and Hell from a child’s perspective. This deeply religious children’s book navigate the worlds of Heaven and Hell through the viewpoint of a little girl and her sister. This book often quotes verses from the Bible and uses those to help paint a realistic picture of what Heaven may look like and what you can expect to see and feel there. The author also paints a very vivid and realistic image of what Hell might look like as well. This part of the book could be considered scary for younger readers. The book is written in child friendly language, which makes it easy to not only read to children but also allows children to read it independently. The story also makes it easy for children to understand the concepts of Heaven and Hell. Often times concepts like these can be difficult to talk about or difficult to bring up with children this book does a nice job of integrating these often times difficult concepts into every day life. This book would make a great first introduction to religion, Jesus, the Bible. The story itself is lacking in creativity. It relies heavily on what is already written in the Bible to tell the story there is not much that differs or varies from what can already be found in the Bible. All in all the author did an excellent job of introducing the concept of heaven and hell through the lens of a child. This book could be utilized by parents or members of the church, who would like to initiate a conversation with children about the Bible, Jesus, Heaven, and Hell. I would not recommend reading this book to younger readers because it could have negative implications on their dreams. I would give this book a rating of three out of five.
